Waage Family Announcement

I know that I promised I would have this announcement on Monday, but I just got to busy during the acclamation time.

The Waage family would like to announce the newest addition to their family...........Jack

Jack is a 2 year old red min pin that was rescued from Northwoods Humane Society in Wyoming, Minnesota. He is very small like Lilly & only weights 6.4 pounds. We are his 3rd family, but we are his "forever" family. He has goofy ears & an under bite that make him so lovable. His destiny story & everything happens for a reason is very interesting........

Last Saturday, we needed to drive all the way back to SSP to shovel the driveway. We called around & nobody was available to help us out. So Joel & I make the track back. Along the way Joel & I were having a conversation about Zoey not being around much longer (yes, she is declining fast and we don't expect her to make it through the winter) and the fact that Lilly is young and loves to try to play with Zoey and the Yogi. We decided that we would start the long search to find a brother or sister for Lilly. Once we got the shoveling done, we start to head up to Blaine to borrow Joel's brother, John's tile saw to complete the ceramic tile in the new bathroom. Seeing we were up on the "north" side of the town, we came home on highway 8. As we came into Wyoming, MN I saw a sign for the local humane society. So we stop, we need to stretch our legs and potty Lilly. So while Joel took Lilly potty, I ran in. Once I was in I was given a tour and the volunteer took me back to the dogs. They were all large dogs , so after I pet them all and greeted them....I left the room. As I headed out I noticed a room with the door closed that said "small dogs". I entered and in the first kennel was Duke aka Jack. He ran up to the door to greet me. I saw those goofy ears and just had to giggle. I took him out and he handed out the kisses and we did some talking. I then went and got Joel. We hung out with him awhile and then the volunteer asked if we would like to bring in Lilly. So they put us into an get acquainted room and everybody seems to get along. We decided to start heading home.....without Duke aka Jack.

As we were heading home we talked about the fact that Duke aka Jack would make a good fit to our house, but we needed to sleep on it. We couldn't believe that we would have found our new family member so quickly........everything happens for a reason. We got home & shared out thoughts with Jonathan and went on the internet to show him Duke aka Jack's bio. At that moment we decided he was to be with us. So we e-mail Northwoods to tell them we were interested in becoming Duke aka Jack's forever family.

On Monday morning when they opened at 10:00 am I called and they stated they got our e-mail and had already put him on hold for us. Jonathan, Lilly & I headed out in the snow to go get him and bought him home. Over the last couple of days he has adjusted very nicely and over the next couple of weeks it will only get better. Lilly has had a couple bouts of jealously but she is slowly getting better.

Lilly & Jack taking some time out of their busy napping schedule for some wrestling.

This weekend Joel promised us a bathroom that was operational. ...........we'll see.

Bathroom Update

Well we were figuring that the bathroom should be functional by tonight, but as true to form with any Waage project.....not!

On Saturday's Joel always sleeps in because Mon-Fri he gets up at 3:30 am to go to work. So Joel got up around 9:30 & started to work and then we get a call from the realtor saying he was over to the SSP house to turn the heat up to get ready for the 2 showings we had that afternoon and noticed that the driveway hadn't been shoveled. So we call around to a couple of people, but they were busy. So Joel & I headed out around 10:30 to go shovel the SSP driveway! After we got done with that we headed up to Blaine to Joel's brothers house to borrow his tile saw. Then we worked our way back home........we did make one stop, but I'll share that with you later. We got home around 6:15 pm & Joel started to work on the bathroom for a little bit before we turned in for the night.

Sunday Joel started in bright & early......ok 9:00 am. Started by working on the new linen closet and then onto the tile floor. Hopefully he will be able to set the toilet by tomorrow night, so that we have more than 1 bathroom.
